At kununu, I contributed to a growing design system within a decentralized team structure, supporting multiple feature teams while establishing stronger governance and alignment across products.

The system was built on an extended atomic approach and documented across Figma, Storybook, and Confluence. A key part of my work was maintaining the UI kit and component library, communicating changes through structured changelogs, and minimizing breaking changes to keep teams productive.

We focused on scalable foundations by creating responsive, token-driven components and increasing transparency through a dedicated “snowflake” library. This made one-off solutions visible across teams, helping identify opportunities for consolidation and turning isolated patterns into shared standards over time.
